CATEGORY 1 – Coarse Dust Protection

Durable entry-level filtration for ventilation systems, engines, and cabins operating in light- to medium-dust environments, or as a pre-filter for higher filtration categories.
Category 1 filters capture coarse particles such as dust, chaff, or fibers, preventing premature clogging of downstream filters and maintaining stable system airflow.
Applications
- Agricultural and construction machinery
- HVAC intakes for industrial or service vehicles
- Multi-stage filtration systems
Key Advantages
- Reliable coarse-dust protection for extended system life
- Low pressure drop for high airflow efficiency
- Rugged and cost-efficient design
- Long service life with easy maintenance
CATEGORY 2 - Dust and Particulate Filtration (ISO 16890)

Protects operators and equipment from dust, pollen, and airborne particulates. Tested and classified according to ISO 16890 with efficiencies ePM₁, ePM₂.₅, and ePM₁₀.
Developed for applications requiring effective particulate protection without aerosol or gas filtration (EN 15695 Category 2).
Applications
- Cabins for construction, mining, and agricultural vehicles (Category 2 protection)
- HVAC and ventilation in industrial buildings or operator enclosures
- Compressors, generators, and control cabinets requiring clean intake or cooling air
- Painting, cleaning, and process systems to prevent particulate contamination
- Railway and marine ventilation for crew cabins or electronics
- Pre-filters in multi-stage air-purification modules
Key Advantages
- High dust-holding capacity
- Stable efficiency
- Low pressure drop
- Long service life
- Available with hydrophobic or flame-retardant media
CATEGORY 3 - HEPA Cabin Filters (EN 1822)

High-Efficiency Particle Filtration for Protective Ventilation Systems
Category 3 filters are designed for protective cabins and clean-air environments where high particle retention and reliable airflow are essential. Built with HEPA media (H13 or H14), these filters remove up to 99.995 % of airborne particles ≥ 0.3 µm, including fine dust, aerosols, soot, and biological contaminants.
When combined with an activated-carbon layer, the filters also absorb fumes, odors, and toxic gases such as ABEK-class vapors, H₂S, SO₂, and NH₃, offering extended protection for operators in demanding industrial conditions.
Each filter is tested and classified according to DIN EN 1822 (HEPA / ULPA) to ensure consistent, certified performance in sealed or ventilated cabin systems.
Key Advantages
- High-efficiency particle removal (up to 99.995 %, H14)
- Compatible with activated-carbon modules for gas and odor control
- Stable performance at low pressure drop
- Durable, flame-retardant construction (DIN 53438 compliant)
- Designed for positive-pressure cabin systems
- Available in H13, H14, and ULPA classes upon request
Applications
- Driver and operator cabins
- Industrial HVAC systems
- Blasting and welding enclosures
- Railway and mining vehicles
- Aviation ground support equipment
Used in combination with systems like DustRanger™ Protective Ventilation, Category 3 HEPA filters deliver reliable particle filtration and cabin pressurization for agricultural, construction, and industrial machinery.
CATEGORY 4 - Combination Filters (EN 15695-2)

Maximum Operator Protection for Agricultural Sprayers
Category 4 combination filters are engineered to meet the highest safety requirements defined by EN 15695-2 for agricultural sprayers. Each filter integrates high-efficiency HEPA media (H13 or H14) with activated carbon technology to protect operators from both fine aerosols and hazardous vapors during spraying and chemical handling.
The HEPA stage captures up to 99.995 % of fine dust and biological particles ≥ 0.3 µm, while the gas filtration stage removes harmful vapors from pesticides, solvents, and fertilizers. Depending on the application, filters can be equipped with sintered carbon blocks for general organic vapors or granular carbon specifically designed for ammonia and alkaline gases.
These filters are tested and certified according to EN 15695-2 and EN 1822 (H13/H14), ensuring full compliance for sealed and pressurized sprayer cabins.
Key Advantages
- Dual-stage protection: particle + gas phase filtration
- Up to 99.995 % efficiency for particles ≥ 0.3 µm (HEPA H14)
- Customizable carbon modules: sintered or granular for target gases
- Effective against pesticide vapors, solvents, ammonia, and odors
- Low pressure drop, quiet operation, and long service life
- Flame-retardant construction (DIN 53438 compliant)
- Modular design for easy OEM integration
Applications
- Self-propelled and trailed sprayers
- Chemical mixing and loading stations
- Fertilizer-handling vehicles requiring CAT 4 protection
Category 4 filters are a core element of the DustRanger Protective Ventilation System – Longday AG’s advanced cabin protection solution providing pressurization, filtration monitoring, and high-efficiency gas and dust removal for agricultural machinery.
